Beans Thoran


Beans are a good source of carbohydrates, protein, dietary
fiber, Vitamin C and beta carotene. The beta carotene is converted to vitamin A in the body.
Green beans also contain small amounts of calcium and other nutrients.
Beans thoran is made up of Beans, Coconut and Garlic.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Chopped Beans - 1 cups
  • Grated coconut - ¼ Cup
  • Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 nos
  • Cumin Seed -¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Rice - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilly -2 nos
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Oil - as needed
  • Curry Leaves -few

PREPARATION METHOD:
  • Cook Beans with turmeric powder and salt in little water.
  • Crush Grated Coconut ,Chilly powder,Garlic,Cumin seed and add to the cooked Beans and mix it well.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds and red chilli and let it splutter.
  • Add rice and fry it.
  • Once rice becomes crisp add Cooked Beans and Curry leaves.
  • Stir well and slow down the flame and cook it for 2 mins.
Recommended Combination: Serve hot with Rice
