Beans are a good source of carbohydrates, protein, dietary
fiber, Vitamin C and beta carotene. The beta carotene is converted to vitamin A in the body.
Green beans also contain small amounts of calcium and other nutrients.
Beans thoran is made up of Beans, Coconut and Garlic.
INGREDIENTS:
- Chopped Beans - 1 cups
- Grated coconut - ¼ Cup
- Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
- Garlic - 1 nos
- Cumin Seed -¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Rice - 1 tsp
- Red Chilly -2 nos
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Oil - as needed
- Curry Leaves -few
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Cook Beans with turmeric powder and salt in little water.
- Crush Grated Coconut ,Chilly powder,Garlic,Cumin seed and add to the cooked Beans and mix it well.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and red chilli and let it splutter.
- Add rice and fry it.
- Once rice becomes crisp add Cooked Beans and Curry leaves.
- Stir well and slow down the flame and cook it for 2 mins.
