Beet Root is a good food for health. It contains carbohydrates, mainly in the form of sugar, and it has a little protein and fat.
Beet Root thoran made up of Beet Root,Coconut Cuts,Onion and Grated Coconut.
INGREDIENTS:
- Chopped Beet Root - 1cup
- Chopped Onion- ½ Cup
- Roundlycut GreenChilly - 5
- Coconut Cuts(nicely slice)- ¼ Cup
- Grated coconut - ¼ Cup
- Chilly Powder -½ tsp
- Corriander Powder --½ tsp
- Perinjeerakam Powder -¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Red Chilly -2 nos
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Black gram -1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - as needed
- Curry leaves - few
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Cook Beet Root,Coconut Cuts,Onion,Green Chilly with Turmeric powder,Chilly Powder,Corriander Powder,Perinjeerakam Powder and salt in littlewater.
- Add Grated Coconut to the cooked Beet Root and mix it well.
- Heat Oil in a pan.
- Add Mustard seeds and Red chilly and let it splutter.
- Add Black gram and fry it.
- Once Black gram becomes brown add Cooked Beet Root and Curry leaves.
- Stir well and slow down the flame and cook it for 2 mins.
